ABOUT THE ARTWORK
DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

The artwork portrays a famous super model and fashion icon, Kate Moss. Its vibe reminds me of true 50s/ 60s rockers going for a ride. It carries a confidence that can only come from forging an identity in youth and counterculture. Inspiration: Kate Moss by Terry Richardson for Harper Bazaar, May 2...

I am a freelance, self-taught artist. Since my very first picture in 2012, I have classed myself as a pop art painter. I have a strong interest in iconic figures, therefore, photos are always the starting point of my artworks. I paint mainly black and white portraits, characterised by vivid, abstract elements. In my work, I experiment with graphic design, linear quality and play of light, in order to create a certain aesthetic tension. I use combinations of acrylics and watercolours. I am interested in exploration of how art has driven major social and political change since the 1960s. I try to explore themes and issues such as social activism, human rights, equality and feminism, as well as the youth counterculture. I draw inspiration from Andy Warhol and the Polish School of Posters, which is reflected in modern style of my paintings. I also have a huge fondness for magazine covers - as beautiful as controversial, some of them fascinate while others shock. They are the signs of their times. What I am truly absorbed by are the vibrations of emotions - when we can both, laugh and cry looking at the same artwork. When I paint, there is always a plan and a purpose, and a goal I am aiming for. Nevertheless, sometimes, with a bit of luck, the creation process seems to be led by someone else. In these very moments, I feel like I have no more control over the final piece. In that sense, I am always hoping for the ultimate result being something I could never anticipate.
