Robert Moores

As an artist, I aim to create works which celebrate the unique and defining characteristics of my subjects.  By distilling subjects down to their defining qualities, and often exaggerating them, I strive to make everything feel vivid, memorable, epic. 
 
My often hyperbolic style relies on the supercharging of color, scale, and light.  Bold saturation, closeup detailing, and lighting accents are the typical hallmarks of my work.  Expect images that exaggerate without quite departing from reality. 
 
When you look at a flower and then walk away, there are things that you remember and things that don't stick with you.  My goal is to create art which is more true to this memorable impression of things than to the strict reality.  Returning to the same flower a few days later you might find, for example, that the red isn't quite as vivid as you remember it - but you remember it being so red!  My work seeks to preserve the red that you remember - the impression that has grown in your mind.
