Despite coming from a family with a long tradition in blacksmithing, my foray into the world of sculpture was somewhat late. However, once I discovered my passion for this art, there was no turning back. Each piece I create reflects my personal journey and the influences I have gathered along the way.
About 30 years ago, my artistic journey took a turn towards furniture restoration. During this period, I immersed myself in training as a restorer, where I gained a deep understanding of conservation and renovation techniques. This phase of my career not only expanded my skill set but also allowed me to explore the intersection between functionality and aesthetics, enriching my perspective as a sculptor.
As I progressed in my practice, I experienced a natural evolution towards abstract sculpture. Wood became my primary canvas, and through it, I explored the expressive freedom that abstraction allows. The incorporation of iron in my works marked a new phase, blending the robustness of metal with the elegance of wood to create unique pieces that transcend conventions.
