Flavius Lucacel

The unicity of my paintings is given by the Traditional aspect, through the materials used to create this.

I used for these works traditional towels and old cloths woven by the women from my village Aluniș, Sălaj: Clara Năprădean, Suciu Maria and Rozalia, my mother.

The frames (100 years old) handcrafted by Gheorge Sână from Tihău village, were given to me by his son, who kept them carefully after the demolition of the old parental house. We used them with the joy and confidence of a builder, who adds to a building as a binder the past energy through the minds and hands of a long line of craters in our families.

Out of the worry of losing our roots, my move is a timid urge to keep what they once created.
