Alix Martinez

Galician multidisciplinary artist based in London since 2012.

Working with different mediums. Alix combines her Drawing and Painting practice with Digital Media.

Her main areas of interest are light and colour. Together with the theme of technology and how this affects human behaviour.

Developed a body of work in Computational Art as part of the ONUT collective (2015-2023)

Graduated in Fine Arts in 2001 (specialised in Graphic Design and Media Communication) by the Salamanca University in Spain.

Since then Alix has developed her career and education in different countries such as Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Denmark and currently the UK.

Holds two MAs:
Goldsmiths, University of London - United Kingdom - 2016 - 2017 Master's degree, Computational Arts. Passed with distinction.

SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design Milan - Italy - 2003 - 2004 Master's degree, Web Page, Digital Multimedia & Information Resources Design.

2019 – 11-14 April – ONUT – Anamorphic Waves. A New Media Art exhibition exploring technological horizons at Ugly Duck. An exhibition exploring how digital interfaces and technology are reshaping our personal, professional and ecological relationships.

2018 – 8-11 March – ONUT – Sheroes show at Ugly Duck. Women artists and allies turning our eyes towards overlooked heroines and offering inspiring female role models.

2017 – 14-15 October – Virtuality Mortality show at Ugly Duck. Collective exhibition curated by the XAP Cross art Projects Collective. 21 international artists investigate our symbiotic relationships with technology

2017 – 07-09 September – Overlap Show. Final degree show for the MA Computational Arts program at Goldsmiths College, University of London
