We want what we want because we think we will feel really good when we get there. But, if we don’t feel really good on our way to there, we often can’t get there. We are much better off learning to be satisfied with what-is while we’re reaching for more. Never stop seeking the light from the inside out.

The Splintered Wisdom series is a creation of watercolor treescapes enhanced by collage and detailed with graphite and color pencils. I have adopted a section of scenic highway in California to pick up all the trash left behind by tourists and residents. I use images of and the litter itself as collage pieces to create color, dimension and texture. Instilled in every piece is a gentle reminder that if we do not clean up after ourselves trees will not grow from our trash in the future.

All works from this Series are created on art paper mounted on wood panels. Each piece is preserved with two coats of archival satin varnish, creating a contemporary but natural look. The edges are finished with varnish as well, but often left their natural color and may display drips of paint from the process.
The overall result is an aesthetically alluring painting with a hidden message about protecting our forests.
All works are Ready-to-Hang.

Linda Klein, a nature-loving artist hailing from the Bay Area, California, embarks on a soulful journey that harmonizes realism and abstract expression. Unveiling her artistic flair in preschool, Linda's earliest creative adventures prompted her parents to enroll her in local art classes—a bid to save their home from toddler graffiti and nurture her burgeoning talent. Nestled in the wild beauty of West Marin since 2009, Linda draws inspiration from her surroundings. Her artistic evolution mirrors the diverse landscapes she calls home—ranging from detailed graphite drawings to vibrant, ecologically themed pieces infused with recycled collage elements. Linda's unique process involves mounting watercolor paper onto handcrafted wood panels which are often created by her equally talented woodworking husband. This technique imposes a modern eco-conscious approach that bypasses traditional framing. Linda's art is a personal reflection, resonating with the rhythms of nature. With an unwavering commitment to continuing her creative education and a dance between documentation and new realities, Linda Klein's journey is a deeply personal ode to the beauty of our planet. Contact Linda Klein from her website to set up a personalized Home Art Studio tour in her light and roomy space, rain or shine:
