Nichola Campbell

Sussex Downs, Beaches and Forests are the subjects of my work through which I aim to convey a sense of wonder in beauty of the natural environment. My practice, which includes ink paintings on wooden panels, framescapes and decorative ink collages reflect the changing seasons and joy of natural forms.

I have a painterly approach and love playing with colour so the directness and colour intensity of my medium is well-suited to me and my style of working. Working from my studio at home near Lewes, I constantly take inspiration from my natural surroundings as well as having an appreciation for the decorative arts.

I use lightfast inks working mainly from my studio at home near Lewes in East Sussex.

I graduated in 1990 with a BA (Hons) Illustration degree from Brighton University (Polytechnic) and a distinction BTEC General Art and Design BTEC from Eastbourne College.
