Born in Chicago, Illinois, I attended graduate school in New York, where I have my studio. I have showed in both one-person and group shows in the area.I live in New York and am a painter who relies on the stresses and challenges of an urban environment for motivation. That doesn't mean that my images are geometric or hard-edged, necessarily. Rather, my paintings are of jumbled forms struggling to coexist, and to maintain their equilibrium in an active world.I have always been interested in combining an expressionist tendency with a relatively minimalist appreciation of structure. My paintings and casein works on paper join my interest in line with a wet-on-wet painting technique.
