Karli Ruscoe

Karli Ruscoe is a fine art photographer living in Greenville, North Carolina. She was born in 1974 in Vermont but relocated to Florida at the age of 4. It was as a young child growing up in central Florida when Karli captured her first black and white images. SLR in hand, standing on a sun-drenched porch of an old plantation house, she was found. A local photographer, Anna Tomczak, lead a small group of young artists through the discovery of light in a local elementary school photography club. At the age of 11, two of Karli's first photographs were select for the 1985 gallery exhibition entitled "Frozen in Time". It was the porch image though that graced the gallery invitation.

In the years that followed, photography served as an escape for Karli. Feeling unfulfilled and a bit lost in her mid-twenties, she toyed with the idea of pursuing a formal education in photography. After completing a course at her local community college, she entered several images in a regional art show, where she received an honorable mention nod for "best in show".
