Rob White

The inspiration for my work emanates from visions, memories and dreams. The work sensitively explores the mysterious, unknown and impalpable alongside deeply personal experiences surrounding landscape, sacred spaces and mortality.

I predominantly work using acrylic pigment on primed board, wood or paper. I work intuitively and freely allowing the medium to lead my response, as I work swiftly to prevent thoughts from interrupting a frantic yet delicate process. I apply a similar process while creating digital animations, slicing and layering complex hand-rendered textures and juxtaposing these elements into a jarring and evolving abstract story and composition.

I also have over twenty years of experience working as a freelance commercial illustrator and multidisciplinary artist and have collaborated with some major brands. I am an expert in digital design, illustration, web design and motion graphics. I have been commissioned and published by a wide variety of clients and have worked on project briefs within advertising, editorial, marketing, publishing, fashion and music industry sectors.
