Blair Edward Russell is a Canadian-American contemporary artist whose practice spans minimalist figurative painting and abstract oil works. His work is defined by restraint, intentional mark-making, and a disciplined reduction of form, resulting in images that balance emotional resonance with structural clarity.
Russell’s engagement with visual art began in early childhood, where drawing and close observation became instinctive disciplines. That early foundation evolved into a highly controlled studio practice grounded in repetition, refinement, and a long-term commitment to painting as a lifelong pursuit.
