JošT Snoj

His oeuvre is characterised by stylistic diversity, which mirrors his unceasing quest, experimentation, formation, and growth. Since his painting is inextricably entwined with his personal, inner response, the style of his works keeps changing, adapting to his current mood, state of mind, situation in life. It is closely connected to his experiences and trials, understanding the world, reposning to the reality of everyday life. Jošt Snoj follows his painter's intuition, inner force, drive. - Jošt Snoj was born in 1967 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

- He graduated in painting from Professor Gustav Gnamuš 1993 class at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana, with series of paintings of Imago Pietatis.

- In 1998 he graduated at the Faculty of Theology in Ljubljana as well.

- From 2004 to 2008 he studied the Christian art of historical periods at the Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage of the Church, Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. Under the supervision of Marko Ivan Rupnik, S.J., he completed his formation in sacred art and obtained his Master's degree with a series of paintings on theological and symbolic themes taken from the work of Ephrem of Syria.

- Since 2015 Jošt Snoj has been painting religious motifs endowed with a new sensitivity, landscapes with symbolic connotations, and portraits.
