Mieke Baak

New works are regularly added. Initially, my artistic career focused on painting, but in recent years, I have also embraced creating bronze sculptures. From a young age, I was creatively active, drawing and sculpting. This passion has now become my profession, with my artistic abilities flowing through my fingers and senses into my work.

Those familiar with my art often describe it as 'versatile and colorful.' I love working with and mixing colors, and I am intrigued by a wide range of themes. The styles I employ are intuitively aligned with each theme. This is evident in my numerous abstract works, as well as in my flower paintings and other pieces. You might see a blooming forsythia next to a birthing woman.

The quest to understand the essence of being continues to fascinate me and is the source from which I approach and perceive everything. I believe that humans are minute parts of the universe, and humility is a virtue.

I have exhibited my work in various locations, including Spiegelstraat in Amsterdam, Sous-Terre in Aalsmeer, and Litoijen. For the past few years, I have had an exhibition space at my studio in Lunteren.
