Karibou Art

I was born, grew up and work in Saint Petersburg. Oil and mixed media expressionist painter and sculptor, in the recent years based in Germany and France. My most recent series of works are abstract works which could be described as Modern Abstract painting. My main areas of interest are Urban environments, People, portraits and figures.
I've been experimenting a lot with casting resin recently. This resulted in a series of resin sculptures.
I want to show you something familiar and then alter your perspective. This isn't to be dismissive of your opinion but to enhance how you might perceive the subject matter.
I attended graphics classes for free naturalistic drawing at Cassel Academy of Arts for several years, class of Peter Paulus. Besides I inspired myself by colour pictures and I am a passionate self taught painter. I try to combine graphics and paintings in my works.
Most of my paintings are very expressive and colourful. Aesthetics of Eastern and Western Europe Art and sometimes with humour and a soft touch of meditation.
