Ian Hubball

I am an explorer of images, walking around locations with no plan or agenda. Some of my best images have been found by chance.

Liverpool in particular has been the gift that keeps on giving with its rich layers revealed in its fascinating historic buildings and streets.

I also collect sound recordings and video footage, building a library for possible use in making future short films and also compose music for use commercial media and for my own personal work.

My photographic background followed on from a ground course in Art and design in the mid 1985. I went on for a further 4 years completing my OND, and latterly my HND in photography at Northwich and Swansea.

I was privileged to work with British landscape photographer John Davies who inspired my love for that genre.

​During my time at Swansea I developed my feel for environmental portraiture, ignited by spending time in the Brecon Beacons with its farmers. This led to my confidence in approaching random people on streets and other locations.
