Matti Sirvio

A Finnish painter, born 1956, living in Istanbul, Turkey.

I'm sort of an artist from Finland, at least I'm full of colours and images. They persecute me daily until I get them out.
I'm looking for the picture behind the pictures. Eternity is very real, but often covered by a lot of man-made dirt.I want my pictures to speak about eternity.

studied arts in Finland
graduating from Savonlinnan Taidelukio 1975.
He participated in several exhibitions in Finland
together with his fellow students from the art school.
The dilemma between the often so egoistic art world
and the suffering world led him to leave the art scene
and devote his life to humanitarian work in
the countries of the former Soviet Union,
first in Azerbaijan, then in Uzbekistan and Kazakstan
for over twenty years.
After moving to Turkey in 2006, his artistic
compassion was stirred up again in the inspirational
city of Istanbul.
