Antonio Spinosa

My name is Antonio Spinosa, a sculptor of wave forms.
Creating sculptures is the way I express myself to turn my inner thoughts into a reality.
An idea of creation to achieve the non-existent things in the world. However, before being a sculptor I am a metaphysician. The craft of sculpting is the perfect union between thought and action.
When you observe my works, you can see my thoughts materialized in folds and waves.
This is the concept of my artwork. These thoughts are what makes me real, what gives me existence in this life!

Antonio Spinosa was born on March 4th, 1963, in Ceará, Brazil. He is a Brazilian artist, self taught, whose work is composed of carbon steel. The ability of drawing appeared when he was only seven years old and, during that time, he also used to spend many moments of his childhood sketching and scribbling. In 1979 he started working, informally, as a drawing assistant in the architecture office of the DNOCS - National Department of Works Against Drought, where he stayed only for a short while because at the beginning of his youth started to show a strong interest in sculptures. He was already been invited to be part of several exhibitions and art fairs in the cities of different countries such as Argentina, England, The United States of America, Switzerland, Greece, and others. Every place where Spinosa visits is like a laboratory. All the trip he does he brings with him memories, feelings and the energy from each place and he use them to create his sculptures. Nowadays, he lives and works in his home studio in the city of São Paulo.
