Trolsky (Sharon Gazit) is an Israeli artist known for his expressive wall sculptures made from hand-cut and layered wood panels. Blending bold lines with intricate details, his works explore human emotions, social archetypes, and absurd humor - often all at once. Each piece begins with a hand-drawn sketch and evolves through a meticulous process of cutting, painting, and assembling layered wooden elements. Trolsky’s characters - quirky, poignant, sometimes melancholic - exist in a world that feels both mythological and intimate, comic yet sincere. He draws inspiration from everyday life, psychology, and a deep fascination with the tension between identity and performance. Though self-taught in his sculptural approach, Trolsky brings over 30 years of experience in visual storytelling, having worked extensively in animation and the visual arts. For more than two decades, he has also been teaching animation at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Israel’s most prestigious art school. His work invites viewers to pause, smile, and look again - there’s always more than meets the eye.
