I am Ivette Rojo, a contemporary painter and multidisciplinary artist originally from Mexico City and currently living in Portugal. My work is characterized by the exploration of the psyche in relation to magic and fantasy from a figurative and contemporary pictorial perspective. I employ a combination of traditional and innovative techniques aimed at connecting with the viewer through a reinterpretation of the psyche.
My training includes studies on art technique and theory at institutions such as the Real Academia de San Carlos, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad de Palermo, Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas, the Barcelona Academy of Art in Barcelona, and the Centro Nacional de las Artes (CENART), among others.
My work has been collectively exhibited in Mexico at the Museo Nacional de las Culturas del Mundo (2019), Museo Virreinal de Taxco (2021), the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City (2019), the Congress of Justice of Mexico City (2019), Museo del Carmen (2019), the Senate of the Republic (2022), Fundación Sebastián (2022), Aguafuerte Gallery (2021, 2022), and in Portugal at the collective exhibitions on Miguel Bombarda Street, Porto, among others. Additionally, I have had two solo exhibitions: "Darshan al óleo" at Parque Pushkin during the Ratha Ratra festival (2018) and "De Profundis" at the Instituto Cultural Helénico (2022) in Mexico, as well as "De Natura" at FNAC Aveiro, Portugal (2024).
