Janet Adebayo

Janet Adenike Adebayo (b. 1997, Lagos) is a confessional artist known for her vibrant, introspective
paintings that explore self-discovery and consciousness.
Using acrylic, mix media, and her signature "mosaic skin" tones, she creates humanoid figures with
exaggerated features, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences. Some of her artworks are
presented in a unique scroll format, blending traditional and contemporary techniques.
Adebayo's artistic vision is driven by a passion for storytelling and a desire to spark meaningful
connections.

Janet holds a Higher National Diploma in Food Technology from the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Nigeria (2018) and trained under the supervision of Mr Rahman Rasaq in Double R Gallery as a visual artist (2017).

She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including; ‘In this space, we exist’, a debut solo show
by AMG project in partner with Macallan(2024),
‘Boundless’ by Yenwa gallery in partnership with
Ashluxury (2024), ‘This is Dahomey’ by Nomadic Gallery (2024), ‘Transtemporal travel’ by Nomadic
Gallery (2023), ‘Contemplation’ by Yenwa Gallery (2022), ‘Identity’ by 1952 Africa (2022),
‘Spectrum’
by Dica Art Gallery (2022), an online solo show; ‘The Fragility of Humanity’ by Formefemineart
(2023) and ‘Inspire inclusion’ by Mavins Record (2024).
With a growing reputation in the art world, Adebayo continues to push boundaries and inspire
audiences through her work.
