Luis Cardel

Luis Cardel is a Mexican painter, filmmaker, writer, photographer and artificial experience designer whose work focus on the future and its improvement through art.

With the use of advance technologies and traditional art, his practice and methods try to combine art and science in a concept as some ancient cultures did. His painting and drawing style is described as being a fine, minimalist, clean and elegant portrait of the human body, mainly woman. His approach to the body is a key element to understand the human emotions and the environment that surround us. Mystical, magical and unusual experiences are what inspire Luis Cardel pieces.

Luis is also the founder and director of Studio Luis Cardel. An Hybrid (Digital and Physical StudioLab) that researches and designs from Artificial Experiences to AR/VR, UX Design and many more technological advances and art related experiences.

Luis holds a Master in Media Spaces in the BTK University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and a bachelor in Photography and several courses in Film and Industrial Design.

In 2021, Luis directed and designed a pavilion and a museum in Mexico City named Somos Agua, marking one of the biggest personal comissions ever made to an emerging artist in Mexico City.

His work also has been exhibited internationally including Munich, Paris, Berlin, Mexico City and Tulum.
