Born on January 1, 1957, in Sambir, Ukraine, Yurij Pankevich transforms personal stories and emotions into vibrant works of art that captivate and inspire. His journey as an artist began early, studying at the Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts (now the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts) where he developed a deep connection to color, form, and texture. After serving in the army, he continued his studies at one of the country’s leading art institutions — the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now the Lviv National Academy of Arts), specializing in artistic weaving.
