Robert Kalafut

RMK was born in Beuford S.Carolina in 1961; as a young boy, he was ever present, drawing and honing his craft. He would spend hours studying the masters, as well as the contemporary artists of the time. His love of drawing and the discipline of it left him with work that continues to be his passion to this day. Even though he attempted a College degree in the arts, RMK found that his talent well out-matched those instructing him. This led to teachers dismissing him to spend time with the students of lesser talent; nevertheless he continued to learn and grow in his craft on his own.
After leaving Oceanside California in 1982, RMK came to Los Angeles wherein he landed a job for RDI Video Systems: This was the same company that created the game “Dragon Slayer” in 1984. He continued working on his fine art interests at home, spending all of his spare time painting and forming “his style”. Soon enough he was moving up the ladder into the animation world, which meant mystical land of television, and was hired by Filmation Studios in Los Angeles. Not long after being at Filmation, Hanna Barbera became RMK’s next stop in the long chain of studios that he helped create cartoons for, huge names such as ‘Swat Cats’, ‘Johnny Quest’, ‘Flintsto...
