I wanted to talk about the web and mass media from a psychological point of view, about the mental manipulation of the masses, but without saying anything, through the subtle language that artists know how to play with.
I did it in 2019, proposing a sculptural group of 33 3D works made in digital graphics entitled MateriAel.
With these images I deceived relatives,
friends, collectors and all my audience, that those works really existed, exhibited in a prestigious museum somewhere in the world and physically available. And when I tried to reveal the deception, I encountered many difficulties in making them understand that those works did not really exist. By now their mind had decided that they were real and they could no longer believe otherwise. The artistic experiment had succeeded perfectly.
I talk about the story that led me to create these works and the various events that unfolded subsequently in "Cervellotico 2022: NFT Art" by the historian and art critic, former professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania Giuseppina Radice, available on Amazon in Italian.

Alessandro Poma Frazzetto (aka Ael Poma) Born in Catania in the early 80s.
As the son of the painter, ceramist and writer Luigia Pappalardo from Catania (also present here on Saatchi Art), he had the opportunity to grow up in an intellectual environment and to learn various arts and crafts from a very young age.
After completing his studies at the Liceo Artistico Statale in Catania, he moved to Rome, where he studied acting and theatre and film direction. He thus had the opportunity to collaborate in various sectors with numerous artists, until he was forced to give up, for health reasons, returning to live permanently in Catania in 2018.
Bedridden, he learned the art of 3D modeling and in 2019 he debuted with MateriAel, a collection of 33 sculptural works in digital format, presented here in a new renewed edition, especially for Saatchi Art.
He also dabbles in poetry, dramaturgy and screenwriting, as well as photography and musical composition and is interested in philosophy, I-Ching and Tarot.
He still lives in Catania today.
