Ralf Maximilian Berninger

Due to my restless nature, I don´like to imprison myself in one style. My wish is to live in the real world. I have a natural curiosity about my place on earth and a thirst for sincerity in all forms. These paintings are a glimpse into what happens when this very active inner life and the outer world come in contact. I’m trying to approach the work as a tradesman approaches his job, in a very ordinary way, with a watchful attention and a certain confidence that comes from experience while at the same time searching for something new.
My aim is to be fearless in the studio. I was taking risks in live and taking risks with my paintings. One day I asked myself “What am I risking, there is no danger, just start painting and let it flow”. I realized that this was a better way to work. Also a better way to live, by the way. Sometimes I have a vision for my paintings, which can be an obstacle. But this is usually not the case. While working on a new sketch or painting, I like to discover something new. And I do so. I’m trying to make something with heart and authenticity, flavored with experimentation and discovery...

CURRICULUM VITAE

Born as Ralf Maximilian Berninger in Idstein / Taunus near Frankfurt am Main.
Musician, songwriter, composer.
Study of interior design and architecture at the Fachhochschule in Wiesbaden.
Freelance artist and musician, casual work in many different professions, numerous
educational trips, development of his artistic way of working.
Adoption of pseudonym R.MAX, development of “Modern Marvels Painting”, study and work on sculpture, exclusive work as freelance artist.
Numerous national and international solo exhibitions of his art and participation in joint exhibitions .
Commissioned works for private collectors and international companies.
Support by Hessian Ministry for Sciences and Art.
R.MAX lives momentary on the island of La Palma / Canaries and near Frankfurt Germany.
