My artistic practice explores the intersection of identity, femininity, and cultural heritage, drawing from lived experiences and my evolving response to the world. Influenced by artists like Frida Kahlo, I merge surrealism, expressionism, and figurative abstraction to portray both the raw imperfections and luminous strength of humanity as I have come to understand them.
Through bold, contrasting hues deep blues, reds, golds, and earthy tones I create a visual language that transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries. My stylised figures, with elongated limbs and fragmented features, inhabit a dreamlike space between reality and introspection. Abstraction and layered compositions suggest shifting perceptions, an internal dialogue between past and present, self and world. Flowing textiles and dissolving limbs symbolise the fluid nature of identity and the unseen forces that shape us.
Faith and African heritage are deeply embedded in my work, infusing it with symbols of resilience, spirituality, and ancestral connection. In recent pieces, jewellery, expressive hand gestures, and organic motifs of roots, flowers, and cosmic forms reflect cycles of growth, rebirth, and the beauty of imperfection.
