January 1st 1967 Born in Szczecin/Poland.I live and work in Hannover/Germany.A canvas is not simply an underlay for paintings. It is three dimensional, having a kind of deepness. I incorporate this property into the creation. I cut the canvas and the space behind it becomes visible. This can either be the wall, the picture is hanging from, or I create a background where I fix another fabric or paper to the back of the frame. An interaction between the foreground and the shrouded background emerges.Textures on the surface arise from incorporating even, rumpled or teared paper, sand, fabrics and cord by using acrylic paint. This is why the picture becomes not only a visual experience but also a tactile one.
