Gina George-Phagoo was born and still resides on the Caribbean Island of Trinidad. Her interest in art started in high school, which immediately led to her captivation into abstracts, a very explorative and creatively significant period, which impacted Gina to become a self-taught artist later on as an adult.
Gina’s work does not conform to any particular style. The diversity of her abstract pieces can range from varying mediums, tools, textures and substrates. Some can even go beyond a second dimension, that being sculptural. This distinctive approach to abstracts will only appeal more to the collector as they can always find an appropriate selection for their needs.
Personal Beliefs
Gina is an outspoken Christian and credits her artistic gift to her Lord God and Saviour , Jesus Christ. Although most of her pieces do not carry a religious connotation, she gives thanks and praise to Him for every piece that she creates along with every aspect of her life.
She is ever humbled and thankful for this gift, stating, “One of the main aspects that keep me inspired by abstract art is its reliance on personal perception. A piece can be admired and analysed differently by each individual, leaving each person with a different view on it...
