Adrian Panaitisor

I am a conceptual artist aiming to unify the creative philosophies of three amazing artists, Lucio Fontana, Agostino Bonalumi, and Zilia Sanchez by merging painting (2D) and sculpture (3D) using the two dimensional surface of the canvas as the most logical building block in achieving such a goal. The theoretical 2.5 dimension—the bridge between two and three dimensions—can be achieved (intellectually and visually) through layers, optical illusion, real objects, and relevant topmost color contrast.
Generally, my art, which celebrates science, creativity, and excellence, also deals with temporary issues (aren’t they all!) that should help enrich and deepen our thoughts in understanding our reality, making Rene Descartes’ first principle [Cogito, ergo sum] ring as the right solution! My creations also relates to how being alive now on earth, together, will lead us to viable solutions to attend all critical contemporary issues.

Adrian born in Bucharest, Romania.
He holds a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor of Science degree from the McB Naval Academy, Romania. Adrian is an multivalent artist and educator with fifty years experience as an artist, and over twenty as an educator. He has exhibited extensively in the US and Europe, and he’s the
founder of the Art eSchool & the ArtPill blogs and co-founder of the Romanian Artist Connection (RoArtConn) group.

• In March 2024, Adrian was among the artists granted residency at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art, New Haven, Connecticut which culminated with the solo exhibition, Adrian Panaitisor: SDED [2D3D] (Jun 23 – Aug 4, 2024).
• Along with the Romanian Artist Connection—RoArtConn group—Adrian exhibited and curated the 5five Perspectives exhibition at the Chen Gallery, Central Connecticut State University (Jan 23 – Feb 21, 2025).
• As a RoArtConn member, Adrian exhibited with the group at the Meanders exhibition at the Silpe Gallery, University of Hartford (May 30 – Jun 28, 2025).
• Hartford ArtSpace Gallery, Group Show (Nov 15 – Dec 7, 2025).
