I work in painting and photography, creating art that is nature-derivative, often with forms that do not fully define themselves. These images live in a realm between identification and obscurity. My latest series of photographs utilizes a process of discovery and development into an unexpected image. I use the loss of control by creating a still image through movement, and then explore that image to discover what it wants to become. The final creation is a push-pull between having little say in what is created, and defining the image. Many of these images have been created under, around, and from within trees. Nature is the source and focus of this series, offering a subtle voice to her presence. My art has been shown in New York City, Los Angeles, and Tucson.
