1968 Parma.ENRICO has started painting in 1992, by revealing himself as an introvert author. His first pictures show a strong proneness to abstract painting, expressed by whirls of colors and shades symbolizing peace, restfulness, as well as pain. His shapes seem at first glance to come out from multiple levels of different brightness so as to get directly in touch with the onlooking people (THE MASK in Italian LA MASCHERA). Then they blend again with the background. With a curious and sensitive temper, the artist represents his inner travel through spirals (THE VORTEX in Italian IL VORTICE) wrapping themselves in an imaginary space leading to absolute peace. Even if he likes to retire into himself, ENRICO is nevertheless able to express his delight at painting, by letting motions of enthusiasm and flashes of fantasy rise (VAULTINGS in Italian VOLTEGGI). My art is fundamentally this: the search for beauty. Secondly, but still important, I put the way I paint. Painting is a joy: I love painting and I paint what I love. When you do something with pleasure you put in your creation that certain something, whose absence becomes clear when you do something with unwillingness, for duty, or for other reasons. Painting is so beautiful to me that I would do it anyway simply because I enjoy doing it. The appreciation of beauty by other people is rewarding, it encourages and develops, nevertheless it is something which comes after, which increases pleasure in carrying out the next works; it isn't able to create alone the love for painting. The third, but not less important, element is to break rules. This point is perhaps th...
