I have wanted to be a working artist since early childhood. I began as most kids do with crayons and Crayola markers. I took my first oil painting class at the Green Mountain Recreation Center at the age of 8. In high school I was extremely fortunate to have been a student of Raymond L. Knaub, one of the foremost Neo-Regionalists. He was tough but he taught me to be critical of my work and strive to be a better artist. In 2009 I began exhibiting my work until 2011 when I took a break from painting for about nine years. I began painting again in 2020. I am strongly influenced by artists Tamara de Lempicka, Thomas Benton and the amazing art produced in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. Living in Laguna Beach, Santa Fe and Portland (OR), I’ve been blessed to meet some truly talented, visionary and inspirational artists and creatives in my lifetime
