Esther Serrano

I am a figurative painter and photographer. Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, I became involved in the visual arts after I establishing my career as a clinician in the UK.

After completing a one year part-time foundation art course at City Lit Adult Education, I went on to complete Prof. David Cranswick’s “Introduction to Painting like the Masters”, followed by another two short courses on tempera and portrait painting. I have since been making my own paints grounding natural pigments and mixing them with oils or egg.


Although, my father was a talented amateur photographer, I was only drawn to peer down the viewfinder when I travelled to Sweden to see the Aurora Bolearis. Inspired to capture the Aurora’s dance with my camera and to share her beauty with friends and family, I returned to London with the determination to both learn how to use a camera, and to get involved with Nature photography.

I would like my images to inspire people to travel to novel environments and experience the forces of Nature, connecting transient moments captured in camera with inner positive emotions and well-being.

My Nature Photography expeditions have shown me the impacts of climate change on our planet; and how humans , plants and wildlife are struggling for survival in many parts of the World. This awareness has made me interested in education and conservation.
