"I was born in 1953 and have painted, drawn or photographed images all my life taking inspiration and enjoyment from some of the great story telling artists such as Toulouse Lautrec and Edward Hopper.
I specialise in abstract and figurative paintings that are often interlinked but always created from the heart and mind. The images presented are intended to take the viewer to a narrative beyond the image that is immediately in front of them. I like to think that sometimes they even may surprise themselves. The more diverse the storylines found by it"˜s viewers, the better the painting has worked.
My paintings are in acrylic or oil and on canvas or board. Up until now, they have been exhibited exclusively in my own gallery or occasionally at local exhibitions in mid-Essex where I live.
My figurative photographic work uses images taken many years ago which have been given a new lease of life courtesy of new technology. I have found a fascination in the way that an old image can be transformed many times over with each version existing in its own right. To see a favourite familiar image rejuvenated is very satisfying.
My landscape photographs are much more traditional and exist purely for their beauty. T...
