Eugene Kwan

My studio practice is mostly rooted on my experience as an Indonesian born Chinese, that dictates me strongly on assumed norms and complexity that refer back to memories of prejudice as minority.

Without any radical conversation or controversial agenda, my artworks are mostly subjected on figurative, focusing on face expression where hint of sadness is dominantly appear through my works.
Explored in vivid and vibrant colors, I bring the emotional confidence, captured the ability to embrace trouble soul and difficult emotions without trying to get rid of them.
