I grew up in a semi-rural village in Yorkshire. My mother was very artistic and always encouraged me to try new unique ways to express artistic genres that have been mainly untouched.
I truly enjoy creating art with an array of items I collect on my journeys and am inspired when I find an old piece of jewellery that has been thrown away or is unwanted; I think of the story behind each piece and its past owners and I get such satisfaction when I place it on to a small part of a new art work for people to admire it once more.
I have been creating art for several years and created my first piece after losing my Mother who left me a lot of jewellery that stirred up very precious memories. I couldn't bring myself to lock them all away, but did not want to wear all of it so decided to create a memory board as a tribute to my Mum resulting in "˜Memoirs "˜. Each time I look I see a memory of my parents and times spent with them. I truly believe it helped my grieving process enormously and it became a real focal point and interest to family friends and visitors.
