Kopácsi works with textiles, creating sculptural pieces on canvas that breathe new life into discarded and recovered materials. In her hands, fabric becomes both veil and relic — stitched into forms that conceal and reveal.

Drawn to the idea of life beneath the visible surface, she explores the silent stories woven into things we cast aside, and the hidden landscapes of our inner worlds, both personally and collectively. Through the act of sewing — an ancient, archetypal gesture of repair and creation — she brings together what is broken and what longs to be made whole. The textiles take on a fragile power, capturing the delicate balance between beauty and tragedy, destruction and renewal, material and ethereal.

In this meditative process, Kopácsi seeks to restore a sense of lost connection in a world that often feels increasingly fragmented and alienated. Her art becomes a bridge — not only between the visible and the unseen but between ourselves and the parts of existence we’ve forgotten or overlooked. In this space of stillness and tension, the hidden takes shape, weaving mystery back into our understanding of life as she invites us to rediscover our primordial longing — a revival of wonder and a reconnection to ourselves and ...

Fanni Kopácsi is a contemporary artist born in 1991 in Budapest, Hungary. Awarded the First Prize Award in the Versiona Thyssen competition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, Spain in 2022, she was also selected for the XV Symposium of Contemporary Art Scampia in Naples, Italy in 2023.
She studied fine arts at the Secondary School of Visual Arts in Budapest, Hungary, where she graduated in bookbinding. After that, she carried out years of experimental work, which allowed her to develop her practice. Her work has been exhibited internationally in public institutions, such as the Tessedik Sámuel Museum in Szarvas, Hungary, the New Art Exchange Art Center, Nottingham, UK, and in private galleries such as Galería Arteria and Galería Uxval Gochez in Barcelona, Spain.
