Vincenzo Farella

I'm a Master Goldsmith and I've been in this profession for thirty years. Since 2005, my interest in art has extended to painting. So, next to my jewelry store in Rome, near the Pantheon, there is my art studio.
While in jewelry I deal with little things which require patience and discipline, in painting I can express myself with large, free movements.
I love a big linen canvas that requires a great effort to paint, the creative force of abstract expressionism, plexiglass frames and acrylic colors. The discovery of painting and the knowledge of colors, gave me a chance to find another way to express my emotions and to understand more deeply who I am and what I feel.

I am an art master but much of my knowledge comes from observation, experience and experiments with colors. In fact, none of my clothes is free of color spots!
Painting for me isn't just about aesthetics, but more than anything else it's a tool for investigating my inner world. It has enormous power over my mood. My wife knows this very well...

I did several solo exhibitions and since I live and work in the historical center of Rome, many paintings of mine are exhibited in hotels and B&B in the area as well as in my studio.
