RECOGNITION
I am a Sydney based textile artist working with raw cloth which I hand dye using a range of native plant foliage and flora. The natural leaf markings and flora distilled colour are created using mordants. The textiles are sewn and woven onto a landscape base and manouvered to create depth and form. The installation pieces range from flat surface treatments to three dimensional landscapes which represent geomorphic patterns.
Design elements are inspired by Australia's bushland ecosystems and my tertiary training in natural sciences.
