Flory Oerlemans Pels

Born in Amsterdam ( Netherlands ). Since the moment I could handle a pencil and a brush I've been painting. So of course I went to the Rietveld Academy, the famous art academy in Amsterdam after I graduated highschool and a study Nederlandse literatuur. After founding a marketing/advertising agency togheter with my husband (writer) that grew big, I took up painting and some years ago I also started designing & fabricating jewelry.
My paintings are figurative and impressionic. Dreamlike images that are all about girls and women in colourful dreamlike surroundings with doves and flowers. Freedom and peace and dreaming about it are inspiring subjects to me. Comments I frequently hear are: "...your paintings are so cheery and lighted, they make us happy ...".
I like that as I like bright colours. I really would like to create
huge enormous giant paintings but there is one fact that withholds me from that: de size of the walls of our houses. So my largest painting uptill now is 100 x 80 cm.
