As a young child I became fascinated with local prehistoric cave paintings. I was most fascinated by the mystery surrounding these images.
Drawing was my first attempt to express my artistic side as a child and it has subsequently served as a mean to communicate and explore different ways to represent reality.
Drawing is the essence of my art. I work with paper and black ink, by using only black and white allows the viewer to appreciate the real essence of drawing. I also enjoy making digital drawings which open creative ways to represent our world.
My drawings are a celebration of the hopeful and cheerful aspects of human life. The image is not the elaboration of a pre-thought idea, but is largely determined by the process of drawing itself. The end result shows a world in which unexpected interactions between different elements confront the viewer with certain confusion. The subjects, whether human or animal, are enigmatic, elusive and absorbed in their own world.
