Friedrich Wurm

For me, painting is like language, an important form of expression. Since I have developed many painting styles and techniques as an autodidact, I compare this to learning many different languages.
Because of my artistic development I stayed self-taught. This has the advantage that I developed my own painting techniques through experimentation. I work with acrylics on canvas and have called my painting techniques adventures in the head, power of colors, fresco, emotion, symphony of colors, black and white and YoungART. For me, every painting technique that I have developed is like a language of my own that I use to express myself artistically. My portfolio is therefore very versatile.
As long as the sky is still green, paths are blue and meadows and fields are red, as long as I enjoy painting.

I studied teaching at the University of Salzburg for sports and geography and became a teacher at a high school. However, I never let go of art and besides my teaching profession I always dedicated myself to painting. In 1994 I made the decision to quit my teaching job and devote myself entirely to art. I founded my own gallery in Linz in 1998, which is still the most important local platform for my picture sales. From 2003 to 2010 I ran a second gallery for my pictures in the gallery district of Vienna (1st district). From 2001 until today I have exhibited my pictures at national and international art fairs.
