Gayle Alstrom

Born Wichita, Kansas, Raised in Los Angeles, California. I came to New York City in 1984 and presently live on Staten Island. My home page is at . where you can see more examples of my photography, including my recent photographs taken in New York City and Staten Island, and my other art work.

I have been doing photography since 1978. I have also written a novel, "That Smooth-Faced Gentleman," (for which I designed the cover using my own photograph) available on . I began with black and white photography, but now do digital. I'm mostly interested finding interesting shapes and forms, whether it be in nature or the urban environment. I go for the classic look, also I like to do portaits,for which I use natural lighting. I'm also a mixed-media artist and like to make Artist Trading Cards using paint, paper, fibers,and dried foilage, combined with stitching.
