I’ve been a visual artist for nearly 30 years, working across painting, photography, digital imaging, filmmaking, and installation. Born in Khartoum, Sudan, I graduated with First Class Honors in Painting from Sudan University of Science and Technology in 1995. After graduating, I taught Fine Arts at Ahfad University and also explored theatre and dance.
Since moving to Australia in 1998, I have expanded my practice to include community art development and management, combining creativity with social impact. I earned an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art with distinction from The Sydney Gallery School and a Master’s degree in Photo Media from Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney.
Before relocating, I exhibited extensively across Sudan, Syria, Jordan, Nairobi, Paris, and London. Since then, I’ve been involved in over 70 solo and group exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Norway, and Hong Kong.
Passionate about blending different art forms and using art as a tool for community engagement and empowerment, I continue to create meaningful work and support others through teaching and managing community art initiatives.
2008 Master of Studio Arts - Sydney College of the Arts - The University of Sydney - Australia.
2005 Advance Diploma of Arts, Sydney Gallery School.
1996 BA of Fine Arts - Collage of Fine and Applied Arts, Sudan University.
