EXHIBITIONS

Giacomo D'Aguanno was born in Palermo on 23 July 1961.
Since 1987 he has worked as a professional photographer, taking care of advertising, art and reportage photography over the years. At the same time he deals with social issues concerning the city of Palermo, in its most varied aspects, telling stories of marginalization, degradation and silence.
He also contributed with his images to the creation of important catalogs and art books, for the Novecento Editions, the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia Treccani (series, "The places of art"), Silvana Editoriale (catalogs for the GAM of Palermo and for the Sicily Foundation) and for several other publications and catalogs of public and private galleries.
Also engaged in the advertising communication sector, he collaborates with agencies for public bodies and private companies.

In September 2006 he participated, with the reportage PALERMOMARE, to "Visa pour l'image" 18th edition of the international photo-journalism festival of Perpignan (France). But the exhibition activity has become intense from 2010 onwards.
Among the exhibitions there are:
From December 2011 to January 2012 the personal photographic exhibition "La città perduta" at the Spazio Cannatella in Palermo, curated by Alessandro Bazan.
In July 2012 the participation in "PESTE" group exhibition of contemporary art at Palazzo Costantino in Palermo Curated by Alessandro Bazan.
In August 2012 the participation in "Sicilia Contemporanea" collective exhibition of photography curated by Benedetto Tarantino at the Collegio dei Gesuiti in Alcamo, Sicily.
In April 2013 the participation in "Geographies and Transition Stories" shows a collective exhibition at Palazzo Ziino in Palermo curated by Emilia Valenza with the sponsorship and support of the Culture Department of the City of Palermo.
In April and July 2013 participation in the II and III edition of the project "Macerie" in Palermo Chiesa del Giglio and Palazzo Costantino curated by Andrea Mineo.
