Because I was raised in one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world my cultural compass has always guided me to pursue subjects that bring together two opposing sides. This is why I always try to appeal to both sides of a conflict. This is important to me because I’ve always been fascinated with understanding the people and issues I disagree with. I believe that by appealing to the other side you can open the door to finding a solution.
As a fine art photographer, my style goes in search of finding elegance within form by sculpting my subjects with shadows while painting their symmetry with light. The relationship that is formed between shadow and light leaves behind a void which I use to excite the viewer's imagination beyond what is visually present. On the borders of this balance I am able to defragment, call-attention-to, and sculpt the human form in ways that break the rules of traditional photography and presents the opportunity for me to articulate my visual style.
This technique has become the key accent that defines my culturally-inclusive work as a photographer before they are produced on either Dye-Sublimated Metal or Fine Art Hahnemühle Printing Paper.

Giano Currie graduated with distinction in Marketing as an undergraduate and with a Masters in Communications and Art Direction as a graduate.
