Gilles Chagnon

Born in Montreal 1949.

Left Montreal 1965, hitchhike to Vancouver, then San Francisco.
Return to Canada in 1966, spend summer in Banff, for a few dollars model occasionally at Banff School of Fine Arts , winter in California return to Banff every summer until 1970, That Winter I found myself in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Secured employment at Art Centre.
Developed interest in Robert Bateman’s paintings
And started sketching .Took a few classes with the resident Artist and Have been drawing and painting off and on, ever since.

Although many of my paintings (32) have been featured in old Montreal Gallery over the years, When I Moved to Saint-Zotique I brought all my paintings and drawings with me. Not inclined to travel back and forth to the City on a regular basis. Currently trying to sell some of my art, to cover expenses .
