I use art to explore entoptic phenomena such as visual snow, phosphenes, and the visual disturbances experienced during migraines. My art is inspired by my research on the visual system, and I aim to take a psychophysical approach using art to gain a deeper understanding of the neural substrates of vision.

I'm also interested in the visions perceived during other altered states of consciousness such as those induced by meditation, yoga, out of body experiences, near death experiences, and the ingestion of entheogens. As a former long term pain patient, I use art to investigate the profound and astonishing inner visions seen under the influence of morphine.
