Dimitris Bakopanos

My name is Dimitris Bakopanos is an artist of Greek origin artistically grown in Italy.
In Bologna, where I live for many years, I have exhibited my works, personally taking care of the preparation of exhibitions against the backdrop of exclusive frames: Medieval historical places such as villas, castles, inner courtyards but also natural parks but also private luxury houses in which the classic and contemporary style of my works are combined with the environment in which they are exposed, also creating a design in perfect modern and classic style.

The classical subject is at the center of Dimitris Bakopanos works, a clear call back to his origins his own humanistic formation, which since the youth undergoes ancient Greece art and culture.
From here the demand to set up a dialogue with the value expressed by thet culture, assumed as timeless reference points and reworked through his personal artistic interpretation.
So his works arise, fragments of faces and bodies and architectures also, painted on pull up and imperfect canvases to point out the ticking of time, which inexorably corrupts the handmade articles, but not at all can towards the immutable human spirit feeling.

I come from a classic path and then I graduated in pharmacy, I attended many years of Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where I refined my painting technique.
My passion for painting through different artistic experiments led me to obtain a fusion between the beauty and the sinuosity of ancient Greek works and the harmony with modern contemporary and classical environments.
