I think that the Artist's mission is not only to show the Truth that people can't or want no more to see. The Artist can do more: he/she can turn the Truth in Hope, Beauty, and Love. The true Artist, the one who really believes, can create inspiration for everyone to live according to the Good.

For what I can express through my Art, through the unique essence coming from my inspiring Muses - Painting, Music and Theatre- this was, this is and this will be also my mission.

My name is Gryte. I am a lithuanian painter portraitist. I was born in a family of artists (my father is actor, my mother was teacher and poet). Since the very beginning, I felt the need to express my emotions with the freedom that my parents and the context around gave to me, through drawing (my first exhibition was when I was 4 years old). During my Art Academy studies I was for one year (1997) in Finland at Kankaapaa School of Arts under the student exchange program. This time, in direct contact with the North landscapes (so different from the ones of my country), influenced my later works especially in the research of new, fresh and bright combinations of colours.

Next to my profession as portraitist, I have two passions who greatly influenced my way of painting: the Theatre and the Music (lyric singing and piano). As concern Theatre, I studied one year in Kaunas Drama Theatre and in 1995 I got a diploma in Expressive Reading. In Music, since almost 20 years, I privately studied vocals in Finland, Russia and Lithuania with many known singers. In 1999, I got the first award "The Silver Voices" in Kaunas. I organized 33 personal exhibitions, participated to 63 group exhibitions (in Italy - Venice Biennale - in China - Beijing Art Biennale- and the in Finland, Belarus, Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania) and 10 international Art Symposia and Plein Airs (the most important were: "A.Samuolis" in Lithuania, "M.Rotchko" in Latvia, "Sixth Beijing Biennale Symposium and Exhibition" in China).
